| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I used these shell commands: ../glibc/scripts/update-copyrights $PWD/../gnulib/build-aux/update-copyright (cd ../glibc && git commit -am"[this commit message]") and then ignored the output, which consisted lines saying "FOO: warning: copyright statement not found" for each of 7061 files FOO. I then removed trailing white space from math/tgmath.h, support/tst-support-open-dev-null-range.c, and sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strlen-vec.S, to work around the following obscure pre-commit check failure diagnostics from Savannah. I don't know why I run into these diagnostics whereas others evidently do not. remote: *** 912-#endif remote: *** 913: remote: *** 914- remote: *** error: lines with trailing whitespace found ... remote: *** error: sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/statx_cp.c: trailing lines

* Mechanically remove _IO_ name aliases for types and constants.Zack Weinberg2018-02-211-4/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch mechanically removes all remaining uses, and the definitions, of the following libio name aliases: name replaced with ---- ------------- _IO_FILE FILE _IO_fpos_t __fpos_t _IO_fpos64_t __fpos64_t _IO_size_t size_t _IO_ssize_t ssize_t or __ssize_t _IO_off_t off_t _IO_off64_t off64_t _IO_pid_t pid_t _IO_uid_t uid_t _IO_wint_t wint_t _IO_va_list va_list or __gnuc_va_list _IO_BUFSIZ BUFSIZ _IO_cookie_io_functions_t cookie_io_functions_t __io_read_fn cookie_read_function_t __io_write_fn cookie_write_function_t __io_seek_fn cookie_seek_function_t __io_close_fn cookie_close_function_t I used __fpos_t and __fpos64_t instead of fpos_t and fpos64_t because the definitions of fpos_t and fpos64_t depend on the largefile mode. I used __ssize_t and __gnuc_va_list in a handful of headers where namespace cleanliness might be relevant even though they're internal-use-only. In all other cases, I used the public-namespace name. There are a tiny handful of places where I left a use of 'struct _IO_FILE' alone, because it was being used together with 'struct _IO_FILE_plus' or 'struct _IO_FILE_complete' in the same arithmetic expression. Because this patch was almost entirely done with search and replace, I may have introduced indentation botches. I did proofread the diff, but I may have missed something. The ChangeLog below calls out all of the places where this was not a pure search-and-replace change. Installed stripped libraries and executables are unchanged by this patch, except that some assertions in vfscanf.c change line numbers. * libio/libio.h (_IO_FILE): Delete; all uses changed to FILE. * Deprecate external use of libio.h and _G_config.h.Zack Weinberg2017-12-241-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | libio.h was originally the header for a set of supported GNU extensions, but they have not been maintained as such in many years, they are now standing in the way of improvements to stdio, and we don't think there are any remaining external users. _G_config.h was never intended for public use, but predates the bits convention. Move both of these headers into the bits directory and provide stubs at top level which issue deprecation warnings. The contents of (bits/)libio.h and (bits/)_G_config.h are still exposed to external software via stdio.h; changing that requires more complex surgery than I have time to attempt right now. * libio/libio.h, libio/_G_config.h: New stub headers which issue a deprecation warning and then include <bits/libio.h>, <bits/_G_config.h> respectively. * libio/libio.h: Rename the original version of this file to libio/bits/libio.h. * libio: Fix fmemopen append mode failure (BZ# 20012)Adhemerval Zanella2016-04-291-13/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The fmemopen implementation does not account the file position correctly in append mode. The following example shows the failure: === int main () { char buf[10] = "test"; FILE *fp = fmemopen (buf, 10, "a+"); fseek (fp, 0, SEEK_SET); int gr; if ((gr = getc (fp)) != 't' || (gr = getc (fp)) != 'e' || (gr = getc (fp)) != 's' || (gr = getc (fp)) != 't' || (gr = getc (fp)) != EOF) { printf ("%s: getc failed returned %i\n", __FUNCTION__, gr); return 1; } return 0; } === This is due both how read and write operation update the buffer position, taking in consideration buffer lenght instead of maximum position defined by the open mode. This patch fixes it and also fixes fseek not returning EINVAL for invalid whence modes. Tested on x86_64 and i686. [BZ #20012] * libio/fmemopen.c (fmemopen_read): Use buffer maximum position, not length to calculate the buffer to read. (fmemopen_write): Set the buffer position based on bytes written. (fmemopen_seek): Return EINVAL for invalid whence modes.
* libio: Update internal fmemopen position after write (BZ #20005)Adhemerval Zanella2016-04-261-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Current GLIBC fmemopen fails with a simple testcase: char buffer[500] = "x"; FILE *stream; stream = fmemopen(buffer, 500, "r+"); fwrite("fish",sizeof(char),5,stream); printf("pos-1:%ld\n",ftell(stream)); fflush(stream); printf("pos-2:%ld\n",ftell(stream)); It returns: pos-1:5 pos-2:0 Where it should return: pos-1:5 pos-2:5 This is due the internal write function does not correctly update the internal object position state and then the seek operation returns a wrong value. This patch fixes it. It fixes both BZ #20005 and BZ #19230 (marked as duplicated). A new test is added to check for such case. Tested on x86_64 and i686. * libio/fmemopen.c (fmemopen_write): Update internal position after write. * stdio-common/Makefile (tests): Add tst-fmemopen4.c. * stdio-common/tst-fmemopen4.c: New file..

* libio: Fix fmemopen 'w' mode with provided bufferAdhemerval Zanella2015-07-161-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | If 'w' mode is used with a provided buffer the fmemopen will try to find the first null byte to set as maximum internal stream size. It should be done only for append mode ('a'). Kudos for Stefan Liebler for finding this error on s390-32. * libio/fmemopen.c (__fmemopen): Fix 'w' openmode with provided buffer. * stdio-common/tst-fmemopen2.c (do_test_with_buffer): Fix typo and fail output information.
* libio: fmemopen rewrite to POSIX complianceAdhemerval Zanella2015-07-081-93/+47
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch added a new fmemopen version, for glibc 2.22, that aims to be POSIX complaint. It fixes some long-stading glibc fmemopen issues, such as: * it changes the way fseek with SEEK_END works on fmemopen to seek relative to buffer size instead of first '\0'. This is default mode and 'b' opening mode does not change internal behavior (bz#6544). * fix apending opening mode to use as start position either first null byte of len specified in function call (bz#13152 and #13151). * remove binary option 'b' and internal different handling (bz#12836) * fix seek/SEE_END with negative values (bz#14292). A compatibility symbol is provided to with old behavior for older symbols version (2.2.5). * include/stdio.h (fmemopen): Remove hidden prototype.
