* ARC: Add the clone3 wrapperPavel Kozlov2023-03-131-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | Use the clone3 wrapper on ARC. It doesn't care about stack alignment. All callers should provide an aligned stack. It follows the internal signature: extern int clone3 (struct clone_args *__cl_args, size_t __size, int (*__func) (void *__arg), void *__arg); Reviewed-by: Adhemerval Zanella <adhemerval.zanella@linaro.org>

* Linux: Remove generic sysdepAdhemerval Zanella Netto2022-12-071-1/+3
| | | | | | | The includes chain is added on each architecture sysdep.h and the __NR__llseek hack is moved to lseek.c and lseek64.c. Reviewed-by: Carlos O'Donell <carlos@redhat.com> Tested-by: Carlos O'Donell <carlos@redhat.com>
* Introduce <pointer_guard.h>, extracted from <sysdep.h>Florian Weimer2022-10-181-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This allows us to define a generic no-op version of PTR_MANGLE and PTR_DEMANGLE. In the future, we can use PTR_MANGLE and PTR_DEMANGLE unconditionally in C sources, avoiding an unintended loss of hardening due to missing include files or unlucky header inclusion ordering. In i386 and x86_64, we can avoid a <tls.h> dependency in the C code by using the computed constant from <tcb-offsets.h>. <sysdep.h> no longer includes these definitions, so there is no cyclic dependency anymore when computing the <tcb-offsets.h> constants. * Replace __libc_multiple_threads with __libc_single_threadedAdhemerval Zanella2022-07-051-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | And also fixes the SINGLE_THREAD_P macro for SINGLE_THREAD_BY_GLOBAL, since header inclusion single-thread.h is in the wrong order, the define needs to come before including sysdeps/unix/sysdep.h. The macro is now moved to a per-arch single-threade.h header. The SINGLE_THREAD_P is used on some more places. Checked on aarch64-linux-gnu and x86_64-linux-gnu.
* Update copyright dates with scripts/update-copyrightsPaul Eggert2022-01-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I used these shell commands: ../glibc/scripts/update-copyrights $PWD/../gnulib/build-aux/update-copyright (cd ../glibc && git commit -am"[this commit message]") and then ignored the output, which consisted lines saying "FOO: warning: copyright statement not found" for each of 7061 files FOO. I then removed trailing white space from math/tgmath.h, support/tst-support-open-dev-null-range.c, and sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strlen-vec.S, to work around the following obscure pre-commit check failure diagnostics from Savannah. I don't know why I run into these diagnostics whereas others evidently do not. remote: *** 912-#endif remote: *** 913: remote: *** 914- remote: *** error: lines with trailing whitespace found ... remote: *** error: sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/statx_cp.c: trailing lines

* linux: Consolidate brk implementationAdhemerval Zanella2020-12-101-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It removes all the arch-specific assembly implementation. The outliers are alpha, where its kernel ABI explict return -ENOMEM in case of failure; and i686, where it can't use "call *%gs:SYSINFO_OFFSET" during statup in static PIE. Also some ABIs exports an additional ___brk_addr symbol and to handle it an internal HAVE_INTERNAL_BRK_ADDR_SYMBOL is added. Checked on x86_64-linux-gnu, i686-linux-gnu, adn with builsd for the affected ABIs. Reviewed-by: Tulio Magno Quites Machado Filho <tuliom@linux.ibm.com>
