* S390: Add new s390 platform z16.Stefan Liebler2022-04-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | The new IBM z16 is added to platform string array. The macro _DL_PLATFORMS_COUNT is incremented. _dl_hwcaps_subdir is extended by "z16" if HWCAP_S390_VXRS_PDE2 is set. HWCAP_S390_NNPA is not tested in _dl_hwcaps_subdirs_active as those instructions may be replaced or removed in future. tst-glibc-hwcaps.c is extended in order to test z16 via new marker5. A fatal glibc error is dumped if glibc was build with architecture level set for z16, but run on an older machine. (See dl-hwcap-check.h)
* Update copyright dates with scripts/update-copyrightsPaul Eggert2022-01-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I used these shell commands: ../glibc/scripts/update-copyrights $PWD/../gnulib/build-aux/update-copyright (cd ../glibc && git commit -am"[this commit message]") and then ignored the output, which consisted lines saying "FOO: warning: copyright statement not found" for each of 7061 files FOO. I then removed trailing white space from math/tgmath.h, support/tst-support-open-dev-null-range.c, and sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strlen-vec.S, to work around the following obscure pre-commit check failure diagnostics from Savannah. I don't know why I run into these diagnostics whereas others evidently do not. remote: *** 912-#endif remote: *** 913: remote: *** 914- remote: *** error: lines with trailing whitespace found ... remote: *** error: sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/statx_cp.c: trailing lines
* S390: Add PCI_MIO and SIE HWCAPsStefan Liebler2021-10-071-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Both new HWCAPs were introduced in these kernel commits: - 7e8403ecaf884f307b627f3c371475913dd29292 "s390: add HWCAP_S390_PCI_MIO to ELF hwcaps" - 7e82523f2583e9813e4109df3656707162541297 "s390/hwcaps: make sie capability regular hwcap" Also note that the kernel commit 511ad531afd4090625def4d9aba1f5227bd44b8e "s390/hwcaps: shorten HWCAP defines" has shortened the prefix of the macros from "HWCAP_S390_" to "HWCAP_". For compatibility reasons, we do not change the prefix in public glibc header file.
* Remove "Contributed by" linesSiddhesh Poyarekar2021-09-031-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We stopped adding "Contributed by" or similar lines in sources in 2012 in favour of git logs and keeping the Contributors section of the glibc manual up to date. Removing these lines makes the license header a bit more consistent across files and also removes the possibility of error in attribution when license blocks or files are copied across since the contributed-by lines don't actually reflect reality in those cases. Move all "Contributed by" and similar lines (Written by, Test by, etc.) into a new file CONTRIBUTED-BY to retain record of these contributions. These contributors are also mentioned in manual/contrib.texi, so we just maintain this additional record as a courtesy to the earlier developers. The following scripts were used to filter a list of files to edit in place and to clean up the CONTRIBUTED-BY file respectively. These were not added to the glibc sources because they're not expected to be of any use in future given that this is a one time task: https://gist.github.com/siddhesh/b5ecac94eabfd72ed2916d6d8157e7dc https://gist.github.com/siddhesh/15ea1f5e435ace9774f485030695ee02 Reviewed-by: Carlos O'Donell <carlos@redhat.com>

* S390: Sync HWCAP names with kernel by adding aliases [BZ #25971]Stefan Liebler2020-08-211-0/+3
| | | | | | | Unfortunately some HWCAP names like HWCAP_S390_VX differs between kernel (see <kernel>/arch/s390/include/asm/elf.h) and glibc. Therefore, those HWCAP names from kernel are now introduced as alias

* S390: Add new hwcap values for new cpu architecture arch13.Stefan Liebler2019-03-221-2/+7
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The new hwcap values indicate support for: -"Vector-Enhancements Facility 2" (tag "vxe2", hwcap 2^15) -"Vector-Packed-Decimal-Enhancement Facility" (tag "vxp", hwcap 2^16) -"Enhanced-Sort Facility" (tag "sort", hwcap 2^17) -"Deflate-Conversion Facility" (tag "dflt", hwcap 2^18) The vxe2 hwcap is also marked as important hwcap. ChangeLog: * sysdeps/s390/dl-procinfo.c (_dl_s390_cap_flags): Add vxe2, vxp, dflt, sort flags. * sysdeps/s390/dl-procinfo.h: Add HWCAP_S390_VXRS_EXT2, HWCAP_S390_VXRS_PDE, HWCAP_S390_SORT, HWCAP_S390_DFLT capabilities. (HWCAP_IMPORTANT): Add HWCAP_S390_VXRS_EXT2. * sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/s390/bits/hwcap.h (HWCAP_S390_VXRS_EXT2, HWCAP_S390_VXRS_PDE, HWCAP_S390_SORT, HWCAP_S390_DFLT): Define.
* S390: Mark vx and vxe as important hwcap.Stefan Liebler2019-03-211-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | This patch adds vx and vxe as important hwcaps which allows one to provide shared libraries tuned for platforms with non-vx/-vxe, vx or vxe. ChangeLog: * sysdeps/s390/dl-procinfo.h (HWCAP_IMPORTANT): Add HWCAP_S390_VX and HWCAP_S390_VXE.

* S390: Add new hwcap values for new cpu architecture - arch12.Stefan Liebler2017-06-271-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The new hwcap values indicate support for: - Vector packed decimal facility - Vector enhancements facility 1 - Guarded storage facility Note: arch12 is NOT the official name of the new CPU. It refers to the edition number of the Principle of Operations manual. ChangeLog: * sysdeps/s390/dl-procinfo.c (_dl_s390_cap_flags): Add vxd, vxe, gs flag. * sysdeps/s390/dl-procinfo.h: Add HWCAP_S390_VXD, HWCAP_S390_VXE, HWCAP_S390_GS capability. * sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/s390/bits/hwcap.h (HWCAP_S390_VXD, HWCAP_S390_VXE, HWCAP_S390_GS): Define.

* S390: Add new s390 platform.Stefan Liebler2015-08-261-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | The new IBM z13 is added to platform string array. The macro _DL_PLATFORMS_COUNT is incremented to 8, because it was not incremented by commit "S/390: Sync AUXV capabilities and archs with kernel". ChangeLog: * sysdeps/s390/dl-procinfo.c (_dl_s390_cap_flags): Add z13. * sysdeps/s390/dl-procinfo.h (_DL_PLATFORMS_COUNT): Increased.
* S390: Add hwcaps value for vector facility.Stefan Liebler2015-08-261-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The HWCAP_S390_VX flag in hwcap field of auxiliary vector indicates if the vector facility is available and the kernel is aware of it. This can be tested with LD_SHOW_AUXV=1 <prog>. Currently it does not show te, because it was not incremented by commit "S/390: Add hwcap value for transactional execution.". Thus _DL_HWCAP_COUNT is incremented by two. ChangeLog: * sysdeps/s390/dl-procinfo.c (_dl_s390_platforms): Add vector flag. * sysdeps/s390/dl-procinfo.h: Add vector capability. * sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/s390/bits/hwcap.h (HWCAP_S390_VX): Define.
