| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I used these shell commands: ../glibc/scripts/update-copyrights $PWD/../gnulib/build-aux/update-copyright (cd ../glibc && git commit -am"[this commit message]") and then ignored the output, which consisted lines saying "FOO: warning: copyright statement not found" for each of 7061 files FOO. I then removed trailing white space from math/tgmath.h, support/tst-support-open-dev-null-range.c, and sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strlen-vec.S, to work around the following obscure pre-commit check failure diagnostics from Savannah. I don't know why I run into these diagnostics whereas others evidently do not. remote: *** 912-#endif remote: *** 913: remote: *** 914- remote: *** error: lines with trailing whitespace found ... remote: *** error: sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/statx_cp.c: trailing lines
* nptl: pthread_kill must send signals to a specific thread [BZ #28407]Florian Weimer2021-10-011-0/+92
The choice between the kill vs tgkill system calls is not just about the TID reuse race, but also about whether the signal is sent to the whole process (and any thread in it) or to a specific thread. This was caught by the openposix test suite: LTP: openposix test suite - FAIL: SIGUSR1 is member of new thread pendingset. <https://gitlab.com/cki-project/kernel-tests/-/issues/764> Fixes commit 526c3cf11ee9367344b6b15d669e4c3cb461a2be ("nptl: Fix race between pthread_kill and thread exit (bug 12889)").
