I used these shell commands:
../glibc/scripts/update-copyrights $PWD/../gnulib/build-aux/update-copyright
(cd ../glibc && git commit -am"[this commit message]")
and then ignored the output, which consisted lines saying "FOO: warning:
copyright statement not found" for each of 7061 files FOO.
I then removed trailing white space from math/tgmath.h,
support/tst-support-open-dev-null-range.c, and
sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strlen-vec.S, to work around the following
obscure pre-commit check failure diagnostics from Savannah. I don't
know why I run into these diagnostics whereas others evidently do not.

For __aio_sigqueue and __gai_sigqueue I had to add internal_function
to the definitions as noted by Florian in
<https://sourceware.org/ml/libc-alpha/2015-10/msg00595.html> to keep
the functions compiling on x86 after conversion to prototype
definitions. Otherwise, the patch is automatically generated with all
the same exclusions and caveats as in
<https://sourceware.org/ml/libc-alpha/2015-10/msg00594.html> except
that it's a patch for sysdeps files.
Tested for x86_64 and x86 (testsuite, and that installed stripped

to determine length of directory entry name.

* posix/unistd.h: Add prototype for getlogin_r.
* sysdeps/stub/getlogin_r.c: New file. Reentrant version of
getlogin function, specified in P1003.1c/D6. Stub version.
* sysdeps/unix/getlogin.c (getlogin): Use ttyname_r instead of
ttyname. This avoids saving and restoring the old content.
Also use setutent_r, getutline_r and endutent_r instead of
accing UTMP file directly.
* sysdeps/unix/getlogin_r.c: New file. Reentrant version of
getlogin function, specified in P1003.1c/D6.

* elf/dl-lookup.c (_dl_lookup_symbol): Grok magical undefined symbols
_GNU_libc_dl_{open,close,symbol} and resolve them to dl functions.
