* mcheck: Align struct hdr to MALLOC_ALIGNMENT bytes [BZ #28068]H.J. Lu2021-07-121-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | 1. Align struct hdr to MALLOC_ALIGNMENT bytes so that malloc hooks in libmcheck align memory to MALLOC_ALIGNMENT bytes. 2. Remove tst-mallocalign1 from tests-exclude-mcheck for i386 and x32. 3. Add tst-pvalloc-fortify and tst-reallocarray to tests-exclude-mcheck since they use malloc_usable_size (see BZ #22057). This fixed BZ #28068. Reviewed-by: Siddhesh Poyarekar <siddhesh@sourceware.org>
* Add a generic malloc test for MALLOC_ALIGNMENTH.J. Lu2021-07-091-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | 1. Add sysdeps/generic/malloc-size.h to define size related macros for malloc. 2. Move x86_64/tst-mallocalign1.c to malloc and replace ALIGN_MASK with MALLOC_ALIGN_MASK. 3. Add tst-mallocalign1 to tests-exclude-mcheck for i386 and x32 since mcheck doesn't honor MALLOC_ALIGNMENT.
* x86: Remove the unused __x86_prefetchwH.J. Lu2020-07-111-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Since commit c867597bff2562180a18da4b8dba89d24e8b65c4 Author: H.J. Lu <hjl.tools@gmail.com> Date: Wed Jun 8 13:57:50 2016 -0700 X86-64: Remove previous default/SSE2/AVX2 memcpy/memmove removed the only usage of __x86_prefetchw, we can remove the unused __x86_prefetchw.
* i386: Remove NO_TLS_DIRECT_SEG_REFS handlingFlorian Weimer2020-05-281-4/+0
| | | | | This was needed for 32-bit PV Xen, which has been superseded by this point according to Xen developers.
* math: Set 387 and SSE2 rounding mode for tgamma on i386 [BZ #23253]Florian Weimer2018-06-211-0/+8
| | | | | | Previously, only the SSE2 rounding mode was set, so the assembler implementations using 387 were not following the expecting rounding mode.
* i386: Drop -mpreferred-stack-boundary=4Florian Weimer2018-05-221-37/+1
| | | | | The flag was a left-over from when the -mpreferred-stack-boundary=2 flag was removed in commit db290cf59207aff09d1794e666e2854a93775f32.
* Enable unwind info in libc-start.c and backtrace.cWilco Dijkstra2017-09-191-4/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Add unwind info to __libc_start_main so that unwinding continues one extra level to _start. Similarly add unwind info to backtrace. Given many targets require this, do this in a general way. * csu/Makefile: Add -funwind-tables to libc-start.c. * debug/Makefile: Add -funwind-tables to backtrace.c. * sysdeps/aarch64/Makefile: Remove CFLAGS-backtrace.c. * sysdeps/arm/Makefile: Likewise. * sysdeps/i386/Makefile: Likewise. * sysdeps/m68k/Makefile: Likewise. * sysdeps/mips/Makefile: Likewise. * sysdeps/nios2/Makefile: Likewise. * sysdeps/sh/Makefile: Likewise. * sysdeps/sparc/Makefile: Likewise.
* Compile the dynamic linker without stack protection [BZ #7065]Nick Alcock2016-12-261-1/+1
| | | | | Also compile corresponding routines in the static libc.a with the same flag.
* i386: Compile rtld-*.os with -mno-sse -mno-mmx -mfpmath=387H.J. Lu2016-07-181-2/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Compile i386 rtld-*.os with -mno-sse -mno-mmx -mfpmath=387 so that no code in ld.so uses mm/xmm/ymm/zmm registers on i386 since the first 3 mm/xmm/ymm/zmm registers are used to pass vector parameters which must be preserved. * sysdeps/i386/Makefile (rtld-CFLAGS): New. [subdir == elf] (CFLAGS-.os): Replace -mno-sse -mno-mmx -mfpmath=387 with $(rtld-CFLAGS). [subdir != elf] (CFLAGS-.os): Compile rtld-*.os with $(rtld-CFLAGS).
* When disabling SSE, make sure -fpmath is not set to use SSE eitherKhem Raj2016-04-091-1/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This fixes errors when we inject sse options through CFLAGS and now that we have -Werror turned on by default this warning turns into an error on x86: $ gcc -m32 -march=core2 -mtune=core2 -msse3 -mfpmath=sse -x c /dev/null -S -mno-sse -mno-mmx /dev/null:1:0: warning: SSE instruction set disabled, using 387 arithmetics Where as: $ gcc -m32 -march=core2 -mtune=core2 -msse3 -mfpmath=sse -x c /dev/null -S -mno-sse -mno-mmx -mfpmath=387 Generates no warnings.
* Don't disable SSE in x86-64 ld.soH.J. Lu2015-08-261-0/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since x86-64 ld.so preserves vector registers now, we can use SSE in x86-64 ld.so. We should run tst-ld-sse-use.sh only on i386. * sysdeps/x86/Makefile [$(subdir) == elf] (CFLAGS-.os, tests-special, $(objpfx)tst-ld-sse-use.out): Moved to ... * sysdeps/i386/Makefile [$(subdir) == elf] (CFLAGS-.os, tests-special, $(objpfx)tst-ld-sse-use.out): Here. Update comments. * sysdeps/x86_64/Makefile [$(subdir) == elf] (CFLAGS-.os): Add -mno-mmx for $(all-rtld-routines). * sysdeps/x86/tst-ld-sse-use.sh: Moved to ... * sysdeps/i386/tst-ld-sse-use.sh: Here. Replace x86-64 with i386.
* Use x86-64 cacheinfo.c and sysconf.c for x86H.J. Lu2015-08-191-0/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Since _dl_x86_cpu_features is always available, we can use x86-64 cacheinfo.c and sysconf.c for both i386 and x86-64. * sysdeps/i386/i686/Makefile [$(subdir) == string] (sysdep_routines): Moved to ... * sysdeps/i386/Makefile: Here. * sysdeps/i386/i686/cacheinfo.c: Moved to ... * sysdeps/i386/cacheinfo.c: Here. * sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/i386/sysconf.c: Removed. * sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/i386/i686/sysconf.c: Likewise. * sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86_64/sysconf.c: Moved to ... * sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/x86/sysconf.c: Here.
* Add and use sysdeps/i386/link-defines.symH.J. Lu2015-07-071-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Define macros for fields in La_i86_regs and La_i86_retval and use them in dl-trampoline.S, instead of hardcoded values. * sysdeps/i386/Makefile (gen-as-const-headers)[elf]: Add link-defines.sym. * sysdeps/i386/dl-trampoline.S: Include <link-defines.h>. (_dl_runtime_profile): Use LONG_DOUBLE_SIZE, LRV_SIZE, LRV_EAX_OFFSET, LRV_EDX_OFFSET, LRV_ST0_OFFSET, LRV_ST1_OFFSET and LR_SIZE. * sysdeps/i386/link-defines.sym: New file.
