| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I used these shell commands: ../glibc/scripts/update-copyrights $PWD/../gnulib/build-aux/update-copyright (cd ../glibc && git commit -am"[this commit message]") and then ignored the output, which consisted lines saying "FOO: warning: copyright statement not found" for each of 7061 files FOO. I then removed trailing white space from math/tgmath.h, support/tst-support-open-dev-null-range.c, and sysdeps/x86_64/multiarch/strlen-vec.S, to work around the following obscure pre-commit check failure diagnostics from Savannah. I don't know why I run into these diagnostics whereas others evidently do not. remote: *** 912-#endif remote: *** 913: remote: *** 914- remote: *** error: lines with trailing whitespace found ... remote: *** error: sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/statx_cp.c: trailing lines

* posix: Fix large mmap64 offset for mips64n32 (BZ#24699)Adhemerval Zanella2019-07-101-4/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The fix for BZ#21270 (commit 158d5fa0e19) added a mask to avoid offset larger than 1^44 to be used along __NR_mmap2. However mips64n32 users __NR_mmap, as mips64n64, but still defines off_t as old non-LFS type (other ILP32, such x32, defines off_t being equal to off64_t). This leads to use the same mask meant only for __NR_mmap2 call for __NR_mmap, thus limiting the maximum offset it can use with mmap64. This patch fixes by setting the high mask only for __NR_mmap2 usage. The posix/tst-mmap-offset.c already tests it and also fails for mips64n32. The patch also change the test to check for an arch-specific header that defines the maximum supported offset. Checked on x86_64-linux-gnu, i686-linux-gnu, and I also tests tst-mmap-offset on qemu simulated mips64 with kernel 3.2.0 kernel for both mips-linux-gnu and mips64-n32-linux-gnu. [BZ #24699] * posix/tst-mmap-offset.c: Mention BZ #24699. * Fix testing with read-only source directory.Joseph Myers2017-12-151-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Three tests fail with a read-only source directory because they try to write into the source directory. None of these write into it in a way that should actually be problematic for concurrent builds sharing the same writable source directory, but avoiding any writing into the source directory (from testing, or from building glibc if the source timestamps are properly ordered) is still a good idea, as being able to build with read-only sources helps make sure there isn't anything that could cause problems for concurrent builds. This patch changes the tests in question to use either /tmp or the build directory to write their temporary files (or to test O_TMPFILE, as applicable). Tested for x86_64. * io/Makefile (tst-open-tmpfile-ARGS): New variable. * posix/tst-mmap-offset.c (fname): Use /tmp. * stdlib/tst-setcontext3.sh (tempfile): Use ${objpfx}.

* Consolidate Linux mmap implementation (BZ#21270)Adhemerval Zanella2017-04-121-19/+69
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch consolidates all Linux mmap implementations on default sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/mmap{64}.c one. To accomodate all required architecture specific requeriments a new internal header is created (mmap_internal.h) where each architecture add its specific code requirements. Currently only x86_64 (to define MMAP_PREPARE to add MAP_32BITS), s390 (which have a different kernel ABI for mmap), m68k (which have variable minimum page sizes), and MIPS n32 (which zero extend the offset to handle negative one correctly) redefine the new header. The patch also fixes BZ#21270 where default mmap64 on architectures which uses mmap2 silent truncates large offsets value (larger than 1 << (page shift + 8 * sizeof (off_t)) or 1<<44 on architectures with 4096 bytes page size). The new consolidate implementation returns EINVAL as allowed by POSIX. It also adds a tests for on current tst-mmap-offset one. I have run a full make check on x86_64, x86_64-32, i686, aarch64, armhf, powerpc, powerpc64le, sparc64, and sparcv9 without any regressions. I also ran some basic tests (tst-mmap-offset) on sh4, m68k, and on qemu simulated MIPS32 and MIPS64. [BZ #21270] * posix/tst-mmap-offset.c (do_prepare): New function. * Fix wordsize-32 mmap offset for negative value (BZ#18877)Adhemerval Zanella2015-08-281-0/+67
This patch fixes the default wordsize-32 mmap implementation offset calculation for negative values. Current code uses signed shift operation to calculate the multiple size to use with syscall and it is implementation defined. Change it to use a division base on mmap page size (default being as before, 4096). Tested on armv7hf. [BZ #18877] * posix/Makefile (tests): Add tst-mmap-offset. * posix/tst-mmap.c: New file. * sysdeps/unix/sysv/linux/generic/wordsize-32/mmap.c (__mmap): Fix offset calculation for negative values.
