* nptl: Add tests for internal pthread_rwlock_t offsetsAdhemerval Zanella2019-11-261-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch new build tests to check for internal fields offsets for internal pthread_rwlock_t definition. Althoug the '__data.__flags' field layout should be preserved due static initializators, the patch also adds tests for the futexes that may be used in a shared memory (although using different libc version in such scenario is not really supported). Checked with a build against all affected ABIs. Change-Id: Iccc103d557de13d17e4a3f59a0cad2f4a640c148

* nptl: Change tst-typesizes to _Static_assertAdhemerval Zanella2017-11-071-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Instead of rely on runtime check to assure correct pthread types size a better strategy would use _Static_assert to trigger an error on build time (and thus allowing to check to potentially ABI breakage on cross-compiling make check). This patch moves nptl/tst-typesizes.c to libpthread build time on each specific initialization routine and also remove some runtime redundant asserts for the same type sizes. * New pthread rwlock that is more scalable.Torvald Riegel2017-01-101-21/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This replaces the pthread rwlock with a new implementation that uses a more scalable algorithm (primarily through not using a critical section anymore to make state changes). * Convert 69 more function definitions to prototype style (line wrap cases).Joseph Myers2015-10-191-3/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This automatically-generated patch converts 69 function definitions in glibc from old-style K&R to prototype-style. This patch, covering both sysdeps and non-sysdeps files, deals with cases where the prototype needed to be wrapped over more than one line. Otherwise, exclusions and caveats are as for <https://sourceware.org/ml/libc-alpha/2015-10/msg00594.html> and <https://sourceware.org/ml/libc-alpha/2015-10/msg00599.html>. * Add and use new glibc-internal futex API.Torvald Riegel2015-07-101-7/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds new functions for futex operations, starting with wait, abstimed_wait, reltimed_wait, wake. They add documentation and error checking according to the current draft of the Linux kernel futex manpage. Waiting with absolute or relative timeouts is split into separate functions. This allows for removing a few cases of code duplication in pthreads code, which uses absolute timeouts; also, it allows us to put platform-specific code to go from an absolute to a relative timeout into the platform-specific futex abstractions.. Futex operations that can be canceled are also split out into separate functions suffixed by "_cancelable". There are separate versions for both Linux and NaCl; while they currently differ only slightly, my expectation is that the separate versions of lowlevellock-futex.h will eventually be merged into futex-internal.h when we get to move the lll_ functions over to the new futex API.
