* Assume that SOCK_CLOEXEC is available and worksFlorian Weimer2015-10-171-15/+1
| | | | | This fixes (harmless) data races when accessing the various __have_sock_cloexec variables.
* nss_nis: Do not call malloc_usable_size [BZ #10432]Florian Weimer2015-10-061-1/+0
| | | | | This is a namespace violation, and interposed malloc implementations are not required to interpose malloc_usable_size.
* Move bits/libc-lock.h and bits/libc-lockP.h out of bits/ (bug 14912).Joseph Myers2015-09-0829-29/+29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | It was noted in <https://sourceware.org/ml/libc-alpha/2012-09/msg00305.html> that the bits/*.h naming scheme should only be used for installed headers. This patch renames bits/libc-lock.h to plain libc-lock.h and bits/libc-lockP.h to plain libc-lockP.h to follow that convention. Note that I don't know where libc-lockP.h comes from for Hurd (the Hurd libc-lock.h includes libc-lockP.h, but the only libc-lockP.h in the glibc source tree is for NPTL) - some unmerged patch? - but I updated the #include in the Hurd libc-lock.h anyway. Tested for x86_64 (testsuite, and that installed stripped shared libraries are unchanged by the patch). [BZ #14912] * bits/libc-lock.h: Move to ... * sysdeps/generic/libc-lock.h: ...here. * Consistently include Makeconfig after defining subdir.Joseph Myers2014-02-261-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | In <https://sourceware.org/ml/libc-alpha/2014-01/msg00196.html> I noted it was necessary to add includes of Makeconfig early in various subdirectory makefiles for the tests-special variable settings added by that patch to be conditional on configuration information. No-one commented on the general question there of whether Makeconfig should always be included immediately after the definition of subdir. This patch implements that early inclusion of Makeconfig in each directory (which is a lot easier than consistent placement of includes of Rules). Includes are added if needed, or moved up if already present. Subdirectory "all:" targets are removed, since Makeconfig provides one. There is potential for further cleanups I haven't done. Rules and Makerules have code such as ifneq "$(findstring env,$(origin headers))" "" headers := endif to override to empty any value of various variables that came from the environment. I think there is a case for Makeconfig setting all the subdirectory variables (other than subdir) to empty to ensure no outside value is going to take effect if a subdirectory fails to define a variable. (A list of such variables, possibly out of date and incomplete, is in manual/maint.texi.) Rules and Makerules would give errors if Makeconfig hadn't already been included, instead of including it themselves. The special code to override values coming from the environment would then be obsolete and could be removed. Tested x86_64, including that installed binaries are identical before and after the patch. * argp/Makefile: Include Makeconfig immediately after defining subdir. * assert/Makefile: Likewise. * benchtests/Makefile: Likewise. * catgets/Makefile: Likewise. * conform/Makefile: Likewise. * crypt/Makefile: Likewise. * csu/Makefile: Likewise. | | | | | | | | New configure option --enable-obsolete-rpc makes the deprecated RPC headers and functions available at compile time as they were before version 2.14. This option will be removed at some time in the future after the TI-RPC library becomes fully sufficient for the needs of existing applications.

* Fix multiple nss_compat initgroups() bugsUlrich Drepper2010-11-221-8/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Compat initgroups() is completely broken; the code will always set skip_initgroups_dyn to true, so initgroups() will never be actually called, but due to the nature of the code, setgrent() won't be called either - thus, subsequent invocations of initgroups() will not return the NIS group list anymore. This is a simple patch that makes sure skip_initgroups_dyn is set only in case initgroups is not available; it also attempts to handle the unavailability of other NSS interfaces better. | | | | | | | | The check for the inclusion of a group in the result gave up too early in case of broken-up NIS groups. We now fall back automatically to the slow mode of using getgrent_r. As an optimization, if there is not blacklist we need not perform the check in the first place and therefore can just accept the results of the initgroups_dyn callback.
