| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | We stopped adding "Contributed by" or similar lines in sources in 2012 in favour of git logs and keeping the Contributors section of the glibc manual up to date. Removing these lines makes the license header a bit more consistent across files and also removes the possibility of error in attribution when license blocks or files are copied across since the contributed-by lines don't actually reflect reality in those cases. Move all "Contributed by" and similar lines (Written by, Test by, etc.) into a new file CONTRIBUTED-BY to retain record of these contributions. These contributors are also mentioned in manual/contrib.texi, so we just maintain this additional record as a courtesy to the earlier developers. The following scripts were used to filter a list of files to edit in place and to clean up the CONTRIBUTED-BY file respectively. There are no static dlopen ABI concerns because glibc 2.34 already comes with substantial ABI-incompatible changes in this area. The new approach uses a pointer to the hooks structure into _rtld_global_ro and initalizes it in __rtld_static_init. This avoids a back-and-forth with various callback functions. This removes a writable function pointer from the rtld_global variable. For use during initial relocation, minimal implementations of these functions are provided in ld.so. These are eventually interposed by the libc.so implementations. This is implemented by compiling elf/dl-error-skeleton.c twice, via elf/dl-error.c and elf/dl-error-minimal.c. As a side effect of this change, the static version of dl-error.c no longer includes support for the _dl_signal_cerror/_dl_receive_error mechanism because it is only used in ld.so.
