Further improve the timings of the string benchmarks. Ensure most take
between 1 and 4 seconds to improve accuracy. Overall time taken increases
by 35%. Tested on AArch64.

Remove TIMING_INIT since it's no longer used.

This benchmark can take longer than the default 2 seconds on slower
platforms, so increase it to 10 seconds.
