* Correct cacheline size to 32-bytes for ppc405 memset.S (bug 14595).Ryan S. Arnold2012-10-304-8/+171
| | | | | This patch also creates a version of memset.S for the ppc476 processor which uses a 128-byte cacheline size for dcbz insns.
* check-local-headers: Ignore <arch> headersChris Metcalf2012-10-301-1/+2
| | | | | | | The tile architecture's Linux port installs headers in an <arch> directory; these headers are in part shared with glibc. Ignore these headers for check-local-headers like we ignore all the other Linux headers.
* Invoke DL_AFTER_LOAD if definedChris Metcalf2012-10-305-5/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | This hook is useful for any arch-specific functionality that should be done on loaded objects. For the tile architecture, the hook is already provided (though we switch to using the new macro name with this commit) and implements a simulator notifier so that the simulator can load Elf symbols to match the object and generate better error messages for PC's. Also, remove a spurious definition of DL_UNMAP in dl-runtime.c
* Suppress incorrect link warnings for NSS symbolsChris Metcalf2012-10-308-9/+28
| | | | | | | | | When glibc is built with --enable-static-nss, the warning that using NSS symbols requires the nss shared objects to be present is no longer true, as those symbols are built into libc. Suppress the warning for those symbols by providing a new macro (nss_interface_function) for the NSS functions that is defined as static_link_warning in the normal case, and empty for static NSS.

* [BZ#14767] Remove tests for have-initfini-array in elf/MakefileAndreas Jaeger2012-10-303-13/+13
| | | | | | | | * elf/Makefile (tests): Remove conditional for have-initfini-array since this is now always required and the variable does not exist anymore. (tests-static): Likewise. (modules-names): Likewise.

* hppa: Add cfi direcvtives.Carlos O'Donell2012-10-292-1/+18
| | | | We add cfi directives to the syscall assembly.
* hppa: Fix r19 save and restore.Carlos O'Donell2012-10-292-22/+27
| | | | | | | | | We must save and restore r19 in both PIC and non-PIC situations since the kernel paths that clobber r19 are independent of that PIC-ness of userspace. In addition we choose r4 as the temporary register over r3 which is being used by recent gcc's as the frame pointer.
* hppa: Optimize syscall sequence.Carlos O'Donell2012-10-292-10/+10
| | | | | We remove an extraneous nop from the syscall sequence. No DO_CALL* may end in an instruction with a delay slot.
* Fix trailing whitespace.Carlos O'Donell2012-10-292-10/+13

* manual: delete nested @cartoucheMike Frysinger2012-10-292-2/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | Putting @cartouche inside of @smallexample does not work with HTML output as the former produces a <table> while the latter produces a <pre>. You cannot nest a <table> in a <pre> as the contents are no longer formatted. Since it's entirely unnecessary, and none of the other examples do this, just drop the cartouche. * change ifunc assembly test to a link testMike Frysinger2012-10-243-115/+144
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The test currently tests the binutils frontend support which passes for all versions of binutils we currently require (2.20+). It doesn't test the backend which is required for ifunc to actually work, and which most targets don't yet support. Change the assembly code so that when we link it, we get a file that has ifunc relocations if the backend supports it. That way we can test to see if binutils supports everything we need.
